Violet Winters

LEGAL ASSISTANT

Originally from a small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, Violet Winters has been living in Tucson for six years and now calls Tucson home. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.A. in Mexican-American studies, and has been working in immigration law since 2019. Before coming to work for the Florence Project, Violet worked as the asylum case manager with Keep Tucson Together, a local pro bono legal clinic, and also as a law clerk for UC San Francisco's Center for Gender and Refugee Studies. She strongly believes that everyone has the right to seek out the best life possible for themselves, to be together with their families, and to live where they wish to live. Through her work, she is committed to reducing harm to immigrants and creating a freer, more loving world. Violet enjoys trying new foods, rock climbing, spending time with friends, gardening, watching The Office, spending time with her animals, and writing poetry.
