Natalia Salazar

Natalia rejoined the Florence Project in February 2021 as a Legal Assistant on the Direct Representation Team. She was previously a Children’s Program Legal Assistant at the Florence Project and at the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network in Colorado. Prior to joining the legal field, Natalia was a school administrator in community-run bilingual schools in Honduras for two years. She saw firsthand how her students and their families were impacted by the root causes of migration. Natalia has been trained in Child Forensic Interviewing and was previously a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate for children. She graduated from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts in 2013 with a BA in International Development and Social Change and a BA in Spanish, and in 2014 with a MA in Community Development and Planning. In her free time Natalia enjoys spending time with her dogs, concocting experimental vegan recipes, and pool hopping in the dry heat of Arizona.
