Marla Pacheco was born in Nogales, Sonora and raised in Tucson, Arizona. She obtained her B.A in LAW and Mexican American Studies from the University of Arizona in 2021. Prior to joining the Florence Project, Marla worked for the Coalición de Derechos Humanos as the program coordinator for 5 years. She believes in the power and effectiveness of grassroots organizing and has been involved with different organizations in the Tucson community since the mid 1990’s. In her spare time, Marla enjoys traveling and kayaking with her partner and Rocky, her Labrabull puppy.
