John Mitchell, Esq.

John joined the Florence Project in March 2021 after representing indigent and noncitizen clients as a post-bar for the Yolo County Public Defender in Northern California. He became passionate about deportation defense and crim/imm at the UC Davis School of Law. In the law school’s Immigration Law Clinic, John worked on the Flores settlement litigation, preserving rights of undocumented children in federal custody. John was also Editor-in-Chief of the Immigration and Nationality Law Review and spent summers within both criminal and immigration teams at the Alameda County Public Defender. He is an avid rock climber and bike mechanic.
