Michellis was born and raised in Puerto Rico; earn her B.A. in Psychology from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico of San German and her Juris Doctor from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico Law School. Prior to join the Florence Project, she worked in an Early Intervention Program; after Law School she had her private legal practice in Civil Law and from 2019 to 2021 co-found and developed the first triathlon kids team in western Puerto Rico (kids that earn to be part of the Triathlon National Team for the first time in the history of her native country). These experiences led her found her passion to serve vulnerable communities and direct her to support the mission of FIRRP in terms of rights and equity. She believes that each person deserves the opportunity to have positive experiences in life within a healthy and respectful environment that provides them with useful tools that teaches them to be resilient and trust that they can overcome unfavorable circumstances and achieve their dreams and goals. Michellis is happier when she spend time with her family, enjoying the outdoors and traveling.
