Lauren developed an interest in immigrants’ rights advocacy as a college student working to improve her Spanish. Before law school, she worked with immigrant children and families and helped operate a shelter for recently arrived asylum seekers in Austin, TX. As a law student, Lauren successfully represented a political asylum seeker in immigration court, interned with immigration legal service providers at the U.S.-Mexico border and in the Washington, DC area, and led a pro bono project that sends students to provide legal services in a south Texas detention center.
Lauren is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Georgetown University Law Center. In her free time, Lauren enjoys cooking, live music, and exploring new parks and trails with her rescue dog.
Stay up to date with the Florence Project and our unwavering fight for immigrants' rights.
