Tracy Kallassy

Tracy was born in Coahuila, Mexico and grew up in Minnesota. Prior to joining the Florence Project, she was a staff attorney with the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota’s (ILCM) Removal Defense team. Tracy has dedicated her career to public service and public interest law, with a special focus on labor and immigrant rights. During her time with the Minnesota Department of Labor & Industry, she helped immigrant workers recuperate back wages and educated them on workplace safety, protections for pregnant employees, and wage & hour laws. Tracy has also served the immigrant community through her work with the Mexican Consulate, pro bono legal representation, and as a board member of the MN Council on Latino Affairs and the MN Hispanic Bar Association. Tracy holds a B.A in International Relations and French and is a graduate of Mitchell Hamline School of Law. In her free time, she enjoys traveling (especially to Lebanon, where she enjoys her mother-in-law’s delicious cooking), hiking with her husband, yoga, and playing the violin.
