Beatriz
Lopez was born in Santa Maria, California, and is a proud daughter of Mexican
immigrants. Beatriz graduated from Arizona State University (ASU) in 2016 with
a B.A. in Education. After graduation, she volunteered in Misiones, Argentina, teaching
English and perfecting her Spanish skills for a year. Beatriz has experience
working with diverse populations, including survivors of domestic violence, children
at risk for child abuse and neglect, and individuals encountering homelessness
and mental health crisis. She is pursuing a master’s in social work at ASU and
is expected to graduate in May 2024. She is excited to intern at FIRRP and
continue strengthening her professional skills to advocate for undocumented
individuals and refugees.
