Steven Ayala, Esq.

An alumnus of Loyola Marymount University and Marquette University Law School, Steven grew up in Arizona and he has maintained a steadfast interest in immigration issues ever since he was a student in high school. Before becoming an attorney, he worked with refugees as a housing coordinator for a resettlement agency in Cleveland, Ohio. Steven has practiced law since 2014, primarily appearing in immigration courts throughout Arizona. He has additionally appeared in immigration courts in California, Texas, and Washington. He also practices before the Board of Immigration Appeals, and he has litigated writs of habeas corpus and other matters before the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona. Additionally, he has litigated petitions for review before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Steven joined the Florence Project in January 2020 and became the Adult Program Manager in May 2021.
