Brian was born and raised in Arizona by parents from El Salvador and Mexico. Prior to joining the Florence Project, Brian worked for the U.S. House of Representatives, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, Pascua Yaqui Tribe, and the Arizona Secretary of State. He holds a Bachelor in Global Studies, a Master of Legal Studies, and a Juris Doctor from Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. In law school, Brian served as president of the National Native American Law Students Association and on ASU’s Law Journal for Social Justice. In his spare time, Brian enjoys vocal Jazz, triathlons, cooking vegan food, increasing civic engagement, and sharing Arizona fun facts. He is also a member of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona. Brian joined the Florence Project in November 2020.
