Florence staff visits orgs on US/Mexico border

Last month, a group of new staff members at the Florence Project took a guided tour of governmental and nonprofit services, with a focus on family separation, in Tucson and Nogales. The tour, organized by Laurie Melrood, LMSW of Advocacy and Consulting, LLC, teaches participants of services offered to returned (deported) immigrants by the Mexico Government, the Mexico Consulate, and nonprofit organizations on both sides of the US/Mexico border.

The common refrain from staff after the trip was that this was a deeply humbling and eye-opening experience, one that only intensified their commitment to our work at the Florence Project.
