HealthRight International Training – May 7th

Physicians, mental health professionals, and interpreters are desperately needed to help assess detainees who have suffered torture, persecution, and other human rights abuses in their home countries and detainees with serious mental health issues.  In collaboration with HealthRight International’s Human Rights Clinic, the Florence Project will be co-hosting a training in Tucson on Saturday May 7th from 8:30am to 1:30pm at the Pima County Medical Society.  The training will be led by two experienced physician volunteers and will include a brief legal training on the asylum process in the United States and the role of clinicians as evaluators and expert witnesses.

More information can be found here or by contacting Kate Macom with HealthRight International at 212-584-4842 / katherine.macom@healthright.org.

Please distribute widely to medical professionals in Arizona who may be interested in volunteering their expertise to assist Florence Project’ clients. Thank you for your support!
