The Florence Project is honored to be named the recipient of the American College of Trial Lawyer’s 2012 Emil Gumpert Award! The Emil Gumpert Award recognizes programs whose principal purpose is to maintain and improve the administration of justice. The award honors the late Honorable Emil Gumpert, Chancellor and Founder of the American College of Trial Lawyers. With the award funds, we will be undertaking a significant inventory, review, and redesign of our current pro se materials to improve and expand access to self-help materials for pro se detainees and individuals and organizations who assist them. All of these materials are currently available here on our website and are used by detainees in Arizona and by detainees, legal service organizations, and advocates across the country.
